Due to business growth, we have a brand new opportunity for an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist, based at Quotient’s site in Reading.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and working alongside the Nottingham Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager, The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist will provide support in the development, implementation, management and monitoring of the EHS systems and procedures at our site in Reading.
Main tasks and responsibilities include:
Primary EHS contact for the Reading site
Administration of established company EHS management systems (including risk assessment, COSHH risk assessment, incident reporting)
Co-ordination, conduct and review of EHS risk assessments in conjunction with operational employees and management
Management of EHS training records and applicable databases
Development and delivery of EHS group training sessions (tailored to Reading site)
Co-ordination of the review and update of local EHS policies and SOPs
Management of the respiratory protective equipment (RPE) face fit testing program
Management of the Workplace Inspection program
Supervision of routine EHS checks e.g. first aid, emergency alarm testing etc.
Work alongside the Facilities & Business Support team to support the Facilities function, as required e.g. supervision of contractors, facility expansion projects etc.
The successful candidate will be educated to at least A Level, and have a relevant professional, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) qualification (or actively working towards this), as well as previous experience in an Environmental or Health & Safety role.
Previous experience of laboratory or cleanroom working environment is desirable.
