Due to our continued growth and success, we have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Medical Writer or Senior Medical Writer to join our Medical Writing department. This is an excellent opportunity to further develop your career as a Medical Writer in the challenging environment of early phase clinical studies.
Data Sciences comprises over 100 staff and provides an expert service in the data management, analysis and reporting of early Phase clinical studies (both healthy volunteer and patient). Other project team members will perform tasks such as study database set-up, collection of data, statistical analysis, etc. Clinical studies conducted by Quotient include all sorts of different designs, often many study parts and involve working with a wide variety of sponsors, compounds and study endpoints.
Working as part of the project team, you will be responsible for:
- Writing the study protocol (study design, objectives, methodology, etc.) before commencement of the clinical study
- Writing the Clinical Study Report (study results, interpretation, conclusions, etc.) after completion of the clinical phase of the study and the availability of statistical results.
- Lead Medical Writer for assigned studies
The Medical Writer is a key role within Quotient's project team; it involves working closely with other medical writing staff and our statisticians, programmers, and medics. Dependent on your development, our career pathway allows you to expand your medical writing skill over time and progress to more senior roles and tasks.
The successful candidate will have a degree with a large scientific content and experience as a Medical Writer including writing Phase I-IV CSRs and/or Protocols. Medical writing experience writing publications, abstracts, etc. and/or experience as a Lead Medical Writer for projects would also be helpful. Any experience training staff or would be advantageous.
In addition, you should have good organisational and presentation skills and be able to work to deadlines whilst maintaining quality standards. Attention to detail and the ability to multitask are essential. You should have good Microsoft Word skills and an ability to summarise/interpret data. Effective oral and written communication skills are also required as you will be a primary medical writing point of contact for statistical, pharmacokinetic, and clinical staff and sponsors.
Experienced candidates can be office based (taking into account the local Covid based restrictions) in Edinburgh, Nottingham, Reading or home based in the UK, or a mixture of office and home working.
