The Role

Due to our continuous growth and success we are looking for a Financial Analyst to join our small and highly regarded Finance department. Reporting to the Director, Group Financial Planning and Analysis, this role will enhance our analytical review and reporting of financial data across the Group. Covering the timely and accurate reporting and forecasting of revenue through to contributing to our focus on optimising bottom-line performance. Part of the role will be the primary support analyst for the Director of Finance, Candidate Development business unit.

Role Outline

The role will include the following responsibilities:

  • Supporting the monthly revenue recognition and forecasting process (UK and US)
  • Financial support to the Project Management and Commercial teams
  • Analytical review of cost base and project profitability; identifying cost efficiencies and bottom-line optimisation initiatives
  • Application of relevant financial analysis to help drive informed decision-making across the business  
  • Order intake backlog calculations and reconciliations
  • Accrued and Deferred Income analysis and reconciliations
  • Contribute to monthly Exec Management Meeting reports and Group Board pack
  • Support Commercial reporting including new business pipeline forecasts
  • Support the local Finance teams across the Group; UK, Miami and Philadelphia
  • Liaise with external auditors and manage year-end requests as required
  • Provide support/cover across the Global Finance team
  • Support to Director, Financial Planning and Analysis
  • Ad hoc analysis and reports

The Candidate

The essential experience for this role are as follows:

  • Minimum of three years’ experience working for an organisation involved in large value contracts or projects as part of a finance department, involved in management accounts or project accounting
  • CIMA/ACCA part qualified
  • Very strong Excel skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels, including; senior management, and external stakeholders
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines & also pay close attention to detail
  • Adaptable and flexible approach to work (including unsociable hours at month-end/year-end)
  • Must be self-motivated and able to organise & manage their own and team’s workload within an extremely busy finance department
