The Role

An opportunity has arisen for two bioanalytical technicians to join the Bioanalytical Services team. These are permanent positions reporting directly to the Bioanalytical Laboratory Manager

 

The key tasks of the position are:

 

Support the day-to-day laboratory activities of a busy scientific laboratory, ensuring that a regular supply of all bioanalytical consumables is maintained (including purchasing, storage and monitoring)
Verification of laboratory equipment and preparation of chemical reagents and solutions in a manner that complies with Good Laboratory Practice and Quotient Sciences procedures.
Maintain clean and organised laboratory areas and responsible for waste streams.
Ensure work is conducted in compliance with relevant regulatory, Quotient Sciences and client requirements.
Work with due regard to health and safety of self and others and work flexibly to meet Quotient Sciences business needs

Full and comprehensive training will be provided, and the successful candidate should have a minimum of two A levels (at least one in a scientific subject), 5 GCSEs (including English and mathematics) and be open and willing to learn new skills. You should be able to demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, and must be self-motivated.  A high level of attention to detail, personal integrity and commitment is essential, as is a flexible approach to new work challenges.
