The Role

Quotient Sciences are expanding rapidly, with a clear commitment to drug substance development and manufacture ands have recently announced a $8m investment in a new kilo lab facility which will be fully operational in 2022. We are currently recruiting for a Process Support Coordinator to work within the expanding Drug Substance team at our Alnwick facility. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of pharmaceutical manufacturing projects covering a range of synthetic organic chemistries and manufacturing scales. Key Tasks:

  • Facilitate project progression from PR&D, into drug substance manufacturing and scale-up assets.
  • Support, schedule and coordinate drug substance manufacturing and scale-up operations to maximise throughput and meet client requirements.
  • Prepare batch synthesis Instructions.
  • Prepare and manage drug substance quality documentation, including quality change control, deviation and corrective actions
  • Advise on equipment selection and design.
  • Prepare validation documentation for new manufacturing equipment and facilities
  • Lead on the management of calibrations (metrology) and maintenance for Drug Substance process equipment
  • Assist the Operations Team Supervisor with recruitment and induction of new hires into the Process Support function
  • Lead on cleanout protocol generation, EHS, COSHH, quality and process risk assessments
  • Plan and manage the procurement of raw materials for upcoming manufacturing activities and the disposal of process waste
  • Coordinate the shipment of drug substances and intermediates
  • Lead technical transfer of established processes from customer/client facilities
  • Liaise with other site department(s) (i.e. QA/QC/FM) to ensure they are aware of upcoming drug substance manufacturing and scale-up activities
  • Draft campaign reports for established, repeat processes
  • Ensure that manufacturing and scale-up operations, and associated documentation, complies with GMP, EHS and other regulatory requirements, internal policies and procedures, and client requirements
  • Work flexibly across the site to meet business needs

The Candidate

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience of kilo lab or laboratory scale up operations.
  • Degree level (or equivalent) qualification in Chemistry, with minimum of two years of relevant industrial experience.
  • Experience of GMP operations at kilo scale is essential.
  • Thorough understanding of process safety and hazards associated with kilo-scale chemical processing. Good understanding of the current regulatory environment.
