The Role

Data Sciences at Quotient Sciences comprises 6 departments (including Statistical Programming) and over 100 staff and provides an expert service in the data management, analysis and medical writing of early phase clinical studies.

We have an excellent opportunity for an Admin Support and Quality Control (QC) Trainee to join and provide support to our Statistical Programming department, based in Edinburgh. You will be involved in the challenging environment of early phase clinical research and be trained in the many different aspects of administration and QC support tasks.

Working as part of our QC team, you will be responsible for:

  • Administrative support
  • QC of datasets, tables, figures and listings
  • Support tasks preparing f data transfers and related documentation
  • Coordinate the indexing and archiving of Statistical Programming documents
  • Other administrative tasks to support our programming staff

Full training will be provided in administration, QC processes and techniques. Dependent on your development, our career pathway allows you to expand your skills over time and progress to more senior roles and tasks.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will have experience of administration tasks and basic IT skills including Excel. Candidates must also be numerate with an eye for detail. 

Previous administrative and/or QC experience would be preferable to formal qualifications (this is not a graduate entry role). Prior administrative experience within some form of scientific environment (eg working for a research company, academic institution, clinical or medical company, etc), knowledge of clinical trials , administrative support for scientific report writing or knowledge of quality standards (eg GMP, GCP, GLP, etc) would be an advantage.

In addition, you should have good organisational skills and be able to work to deadlines whilst maintaining quality standards. Attention to detail and the ability to multitask are essential. Effective oral and written communication skills are also required as you will, in time, be a primary quality control point of contact for statistical programming colleagues. This position will report to our Quality Control Team Leader.

Applicants must have the right to work in the UK at the time of being offered employment. The role will be based in our Edinburgh office and can be full time or part-time (ie the equivalent of 4, 4.5 or 5 days a week).
