People join Quotient Sciences because we are a respected member of the drug development community, driven by an unswerving belief that ideas need to become solutions, and molecules need to become cures, fast. Because humanity needs solutions, fast.

The Role

Data Sciences at Quotient Sciences comprises 6 departments (including Pharmacokinetics), over 100 staff and provides an expert service in the data management, analysis and reporting of early phase clinical studies.

Due to our continued growth and success, we have an excellent opportunity for a Trainee Clinical Pharmacokineticist/Scintigraphy analyst to join our Pharmacokinetics Department.

As a member of our Pharmacokinetics department, you will be trained and eventually responsible for:

  • Pharmacokinetic, toxicokinetic and scintigraphic input to and review of Clinical Protocols and Reporting and Analysis Plans
  • Non-compartmental pharmacokinetic/toxicokinetic analysis and data interpretation
  • Qualitative and Quantitative Scintigraphic analysis and interpretation
  • Providing interpretive pharmacokinetic and scintigraphic expertise to inform dose decision making strategies
  • Utilising modelling functionality to support emerging questions arising from clinical data e.g. Compartmental Modelling, Non-Parametric Superposition, basic PK/PD modelling
  • Providing Pharmacokinetic, Pharmacodynamic, Scintigraphic and Clinical Pharmacological interpretive reports for inclusion in Clinical Study Reports

At Quotient, our early Phase studies present particular PK challenges due to their complexity (often with multiple study parts), interim modelling, interpretation, protocol changes and the urgent requirement from sponsors for their key results; you will be expected to be flexible and creative in your PK skills.

The Candidate

The successful trainee candidate will have a degree in field related to Pharmacokinetics (e.g. Clinical Pharmacology, Drug Metabolism, Formulation Development, etc.) an ability to explain PK and scintigraphy concepts to other staff and to demonstrate a strong interest in a career as a Clinical Pharmacokinetist. Experience of WinNonlin/Phoenix, knowledge of ICH GCP and clinical trials would be an advantage.

Candidates with previous clinical industry experience will be considered for a more senior role involving some or all of the following responsibilities: PK data analysis, PD data analysis, interpretation of interim and final analyses, sponsor contact and study Lead PK role.

In addition you should have good organisational and presentation skills and be able to work to deadlines whilst maintaining quality standards. Attention to detail and the ability to multitask are essential. Effective oral and written communication skills are also required as you will, in time, be a primary pharmacokinetic point of contact with clients, regulators and clinical staff.

Applicants must have the right to work in the UK upon being offered employment. The trainee role can be based in our Nottingham office only (with some home working), more experienced candidates can be based at our Edinburgh offices or can be fully home based with occasional trips to an office. This is a full-time position or can be part-time (equivalent hours for 4 days a week).

Company benefits

In return you will receive a competitive salary, a generous benefits package, excellent training and development, as well as an exciting career within a fast paced and dynamic business.
