The Role

Quotient Sciences are expanding rapidly, with a clear commitment to drug substance development and manufacture and have recently announced a $8m investment in a new kilo lab facility which will be fully operational in 2022. We are currently recruiting for a Senior Applications Administrator to work within the IT team at our Alnwick facility. You will Provide IT support for Key line business/scientific applications and systems within the IT operational departments, in support of the Quotients business and its customers. To ensure that applications meet the required GxP standards, data integrity and regulatory/quality standards.

The Candidate

The key tasks and responsibilities of the position are:

  • Provide application administrator support for key line of business and scientific systems, both local PC and server based, including responsibility for data integrity and security. 
  • System administration of LIMS and other key business systems. 
  • Assist in implementation and validation of new applications as added to Quotient business 
  • Working directly with internal teams and across operational areas on site, to maintain regulatory compliance, provide advice on and execute changes and updates to specialised scientific applications and software. 
  • Support users as required. 
  • Assist with the daily running of the application software as required. 
  • Monitor and report on backup of systems and data in line with daily requirements. 
  • Carry out training on scientific application software as and when required. 
  • Identify and support the continuous improvement initiatives with regards to scientific applications, systems, and processes. 
  • Liaise with key internal operational customers to ensure that IT support meets the needs of the department/function. 
  • Review audit logs and provide assurance of data integrity. 
  • Provide day to day user administration and maintenance. 
  • Work with vendors/internal customers to support and lead validation activities as required for upgrades and new systems. 
  • Work with vendors to aid resolution of escalated computerized systems issues. 
  • Host systems audits to meet key external client and regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will have:

  • 5 years of working in a scientific/IT functional role 
  • Good understanding of computerised systems, applications, validation processes and procedures. 
  • Knowledge of regulatory/quality and data integrity aspects of computerised systems and applications. 
  • Degree level or above qualifications in IT or Scientific discipline (or relevant industry experience/training). 
  • Excellent organisational skills, good written and oral presentation skills 
  • Understanding of scientific instrument control software and instrument integration. 
  • Understanding of relational databases would be advantageous 
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team 
  • Ability to prioritise workloads on a daily basis
