The Role
- The Analytical Scientist III is responsible for material characterization, physical testing, API/raw material sampling and testing, in-process and finished product testing, and cleaning verification swabbing and testing.
Main tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Operates and troubleshoots the following instruments and equipment to test pharmaceutical samples
- HPLC/UPLC, dissolution apparatus, Karl-Fischer water content titrator, GC, FTIR, UV, and other analytical instruments
- Follows analytical testing methods, compendial methods, experimental procedures, and SOPs
- Documents test results in laboratory notebook, in real-time, and communicates status of test results to supervisor
- Peer reviews laboratory notebooks for technical details
- Maintains control of all projects related samples submitted to the laboratory
- Initiates documentation process, compiles data into reports, and authors analytical testing methods
- Implements, tests, and administrates Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
- Performs housekeeping duties to ensure the laboratory is continuously maintained in a safe and orderly condition
- Maintains control of all projects related samples submitted to the laboratory
- Consults and works closely with supervisor regarding any issue with sample preparation, instrument performance, data acquisition, and analysis as it applies to data accuracy and integrity
The Candidate
Knowledge: The factual and procedural information required to perform the role
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, or other related field of study with five (5) years’ experience in an industrial pharmaceutical laboratory
- Master’s degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, or other related field of study with three (3) years of experience in an industrial pharmaceutical laboratory
- Ph.D. in Chemistry, Pharmacy, or other related field of study with one (1) years of experience in an industrial pharmaceutical laboratory
- Knowledge of GMP, GLP, and ICH guidelines
- Advanced understanding of general laboratory skills and instruments
- Advanced understanding of experiment documentation
Skills: The effective use of knowledge and abilities in performance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required
- Remains in compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines including FDA, EPA, OSHA, and DEA
- Remains in compliance with all company and site policies and procedures
- Able to work in a hazardous environment with a high requirement to follow safety procedures
- Comply and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards
- Use instruments, equipment, and technology safely and effectively

- Strong time management skills with the ability to ensure accurate and timely data reports
