The Role

Quotient Clinical are seeking a motivated individual for the role of IT Infrastructure Team Leader based at our Nottingham offices. The role will report to the Director of Information Technology and includes line management responsibility for a small team. The successful applicant will assume full responsibility for the IT Infrastructure (network & servers) across the business with accountability for meeting performance targets and SLAs. This role is a practical “hands on” position and offers the successful candidate the opportunity to be a key contributor in shaping the future of Quotient’s IT network & computer systems as the organisation expands.

Your day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Operation and administration of the IT Infrastructure, including tracking escalated issues
  • Capacity planning and continual improvement of the network and systems
  • Proactive supervision of the IT Infrastructure Team, and assisting with management of I.T.S in general
  • Resource / Project planning to ensure KPIs and SLAs are met or exceeded
  • Liaising with external contractors, support providers and fellow IT professionals
  • Compliance with our regulatory requirements, policies and procedures
  • Dealing with technically challenging fault finding in a time critical environment
  • Providing ad-hoc out of hours support cover for critical/emergency IT issues

The Candidate

This role would suite a candidate who has previous supervisor experience, or who is looking to take their first steps into a supervisory role and can demonstrate independent working and team leading skills. You’ll be based at our Nottingham Offices, but will be required to visit our other UK locations – therefore a Driving License is considered essential. You will also be required to travel, occasionally, to our USA offices.

  • You can communicate with staff, clients, and 3rd parties in a courteous, clear and professional manner
  • Have a proven ability in verbal and written communication skills
  • You’ll have a strong attention to detail and order in your work, with a passion for good organisation
  • Previous experience working in a regulated (Scientific or Financial, for example) environment is considered advantageous, but not essential
  • Be able to lift and move computers, servers and associated equipment (working with others where necessary) between offices and buildings using lifting equipment as needed.  If additional support is required lifting or moving equipment it will be provided

What do I need?

  • Demonstrate at minimum of 5 years previous experience in network administration to an advanced level
  • Have a strong understanding of Visualisation (VMware), and Microsoft Software (e.g. Exchange, SQL, etc.)
  • Previous line manager / supervisor experiences is desirable but not essential
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and direct team members on a daily basis
  • Educational/Training qualifications will be considered, but experience is more relevant
