The Role

Due to business growth we have an immediate opening for an interim / contract Group Accountant for a period of 3-6 months.  The Group Accountant will play a fundamental role supporting the VP, Group Finance and wider team with financial activities across the Group.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Group financial reporting to Board, investors and bank – managing and coordinating monthly group reporting timetable across all sites
  • Managing and tracking all inter-company transactions and balances on monthly basis
  • Group FX and treasury
  • Group tax planning and structuring, in liaison with KPMG
  • Liaising with US sites on all matters that pertain to the Group finances
  • Oversee monthly consolidation and group accounts
  • Investigate cost efficiencies across the Group
  • Help drive financial performance improvement initiatives across the Group
  • Investigate opportunities to centralise Group finance functions in Nottingham (more likely post new system)
  • Drive improvements in working capital across the Group
  • Implement consistent authorisation policies and controls across the Group
  • Ensuring consistent accounting policies applied across the Group e.g. rev rec, FRS102 etc.
  • Assist with all group corporate filings and any restructuring
  • Assist the VP Group Finance with Corporate/banking/equity structuring changes
  • Support the group budget process, business plan and long-term financial planning
  • Manage year-end process across the Group, including preparation of Stat accounts and liaison with auditors

The Candidate

We require an immediately available person who is available for a period of 3 – 6 months.  You must be able to hit the ground running and quickly make an impact in a fast paced and dynamic business.

Other experience required:

  • Experience of operating at group level in multi-site and multi-currency business
  • Experience of group reporting, including consolidation experience, to third parties, such as investors, Board and banks
  • Used to high-paced demanding environment
  • Private equity experience is preferred but not essential
